A Territory that speaks of Wine

The Territory

A story that starts from the Upper Lake Como and extends to the hills of the Montevecchia Park and the Curone Valley. A journey through the wine and food excellences that dot this geographical area and constitute a rich and heterogeneous panorama. The common denominator is the valorization of local raw materials and the characteristics of the territory itself, which due to its conformation gives character to each product.

La Piazzetta di Montevecchia

We are in the heart of the Curone Regional Park, on the top of a terraced hill overlooking the plain and Milan. La Piazzetta di Montevecchia and the entire historic center of the town are a place where time seems to stand still: the view, the air and the greenery all around invite you to leave your routine behind and enjoy the beauty that surrounds the town. A tourist attraction and point of reference that immediately identifies Brianza, the prince of the Piazzetta is the Sanctuary of the Beata Vergine del Carmelo, the highest point of this hilly area.

Montevecchia and Curone Valley Park

The green lung of Brianza, with its over 2,300 hectares and its extension that includes 10 municipalities, it constitutes a microcosm of high natural and food and wine interest. Meadows, hills, terraces and farmhouses are the protagonists of the Park's environment, which in the mid-1900s was considered one of Milan's vegetable gardens. Today it is a food district dotted with businesses that boast excellent production, inserted in a unique naturalistic context.

Lake Como

One of the most popular tourist destinations in this area: Lake Como, with its branches that bathe the cities of Lecco and Como, and the upper Lake facing the mountains. Nature reserves, villages to discover, patrician villas and breathtaking landscapes are the elements that attract visitors from all over the world to the shores of the Lake. A territory so unique that it also characterizes a specific geographical area dedicated to the production of wine, which takes its name from the lake, the Terre Lariane.

Typical Geographic Indication

Terre Lariane is the IGT of the provinces of Como and Lecco, recognized by the 2018 harvest. This territory was historically planted with vines and praised for its vocation to produce wine.
The two main areas are the hills of Brianza around Montevecchia (LC) and the upper Lake Como, with Domaso as the capital.
